Rare Hugh Veater Blagdon Studio Pottery Ceramic Lustreware Bowl Vase England

It is always a great day to be on the Bay and we are delighted to offer this stunning example of an art pottery vase/bowl by Hugh Veater of the Blagdon Studio Pottery in Blagdon near Bristol. The piece is washed in streaky blue and green glaze over which has been applied a layer of metallic lustre (likely copper). This lustre effect is applied around the rim and has dripped down the body on both the inside and outside. The base is flat and washed with blue glaze. It measures approximately 9” diameter and is in very good gently used condition with no observable chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
Above the base there is the impressed stamp that reads ‘BLAGDON POTTERY’ and the intertwined ‘HV’ monogram for Hugh Veater. Hugh Veater founded the Blagdon Studio Pottery in 1963.
